Yelp helped me find this little gem. I needed a quick caffeine fix before a doctor's appointment. The coffee was excellent, and they had a nice variety of sugar-free syrups. (Most places only have a few. This place had about a dozen.) The service was friendly and efficient. While I was only there for coffee, I definitely plan to stop by sometime for lunch sometime because the sandwiches and soup sound intriguing.

I got a couple iced-coffees here. The coffee tastes about as mediocre if not worse than what you could make at home without a clue. It's unfortunate the coffee isn't better here because coffeeshops are sparse on the west side of A2. The service and decor were good, the prices are reasonable, and the ice-cream looks tasty, though I didn't try any. All in all, it's worth a try if you're looking for dairy, but keep looking if you need that coffee house.

Really enjoyed the few visits I've had to Coffee House Creamery. They have a wide variety of warm beverages (in some interesting flavor combos like Rocky Road--chocolate, almond, and marshmallow) for colder months, loads of ice cream for the warmer (or affogado for a combo of the two) and sandwiches for savory cravings at any time of the year. My most recent visit was last week and the chilly day called for a latte and a grilled cheese sandwich. They have a "grilled cheese" of the month which rotates, well, monthly. This time it was smoked gouda with a cranberry relish and walnuts on a nice toasty bread. Fantastic! Simple but so so good. Paired with a bag of Better Maid chips and I had one fab lunch. Staff was very nice, free wifi, comfy tables, reasonable prices. Location is nicely situated near the movie theatre and late hours mean that it's a great place to grab a bite or a bevvy before or after catching a flick.

Super friendly service but underwhelming coffee. Expect basic espresso with flat steamed milk (no microfoam) and artificially flavored syrup. You don't have to be a coffee connoisseur to get the basics down, right? But their sandwich menu is very promising and I'd like to try the ice cream. And again, the ladies behind the counter were friendly and upbeat and the free wifi is a nice touch. It's a great spot for a business lunch and I'll update if I have a chance to try the fare.

It's a very small, cute coffee shop that has the small town atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the coffee is expertly made. In my opinion, this coffee shop is a great place to study, read, and relax. The music is not too loud that it's hard to focus. And even though this coffee shop is small, it's not too busy during the day.

Swung by after a movie and was happily surprised. What a friendly place! I totally felt welcomed in and we got our drinks in a flash. My husband is a basics coffee guy (the occasional touch of cream and light sugar only) so he really is picky about his brew. He approved of this heartily. As Tamara pointed out they have lots of sugar free options which is important to me. I like their list of lattes, saves me guesswork too. Most you can get sugar free no problem. I had a plain old vanilla but I will get more adventuresome at some point I'm sure. They also have teas, infused teas! OMG happiness. I will definitely be sampling those. Squee! This place is more than a mere coffee place though, they have ice creams, sandwiches, salads, soups, everything. We come out here periodically for our movie freebies and this would be a perfect little place to grab a light nosh beforehand. Can't wait to explore more :)

Ordered a small (12 oz) skim mocha and was happy that it wasn't too sweet until I got to the bottom of the cup. :p Four stars for the very friendly service. I hesitate to give five because my boyfriend & I couldn't connect to the wifi, despite trying on four different devices!

This place is really close to where I work, so most of our employees frequent this joint for all three meals and plenty of coffee runs. I love that the lattes are unique in their flavor combinations, but not too sweet. I had the "Andes mint" latte and it was just the perfect balance of bold espresso and chocolate/mint sweetness. The decorations are great and most of the people who work there are very pleasant to carry on a conversation with while your milk is being steamed. The only reason that I held back on a five star rating is that I wasn't told prior to ordering a breakfast sandwich that they're prepared with cold hard boiled eggs. I hate hard boiled egg yolk and had to remove the entire top of my bagel, leaving just cheddar cheese and tomato.

If you are stuck in this area of town, there aren't a lot of great coffee houses, so if you can't get to Zingermann's then this place will do. I have mostly had good experiences here, though recently was treated rather shadily by an employee. Wasn't friendly or helpful. This was somewhat of a shock, but perhaps this place is starting to feel the fatigue of local business owners who get too old and can't sustain the friendly atmosphere they originally began with. But as I said, its fine. You'll be okay here.

Darling place. Delicious coffee. Scones a little too much like muffins in consistency, but still tasty.

In your typical suburban strip mall you'll find this really cute coffee shop and creamery. Decorated with wood and red paint, it makes for a comfy atmosphere. The huge windows that overlook the parking lot don't give the best view but let in a lot of light over the cozy couch and standing bar with board games atop. -Lentil Soup with sausage: (the soups rotate on a daily basis) it's more like chicken noodle soup with bits of sausage and lentils and and carrots. The lentils are still pretty hard. The sausage is what gives this soup it's taste--nice and spicy Sandwiches -Jalapeno Popper (cream cheese, tomato, onion, jalapenos and cheddar grilled on a pretzel roll): when you get a bite of the jalapenos, woah--spicy hot! But the rest is nicely creamy as you've got your cream cheese + yummy sharp cheddar. The pretzel roll, even though there is no trace of salt, is actually quite salty and well flavored. I found it to be a bit small (for my appetite) but I liked the oozing cream cheese. -Turkey Reuben: they put a piece of turkey, cheese a dash of sauerkraut and 1000 dressing in the side. Um the ciabttta is nice and crunchy, the sauerkraut is sweet and the turkey and cheese have a nice taste but it's just slapped together and not what you would expect out of a Georgia Reuben. -Turkey Pesto: a bit smoky but good. The turkey is fresh, the tomatoes mesh nicely with the fresh pesto spread and the bacon is nicely crispy. Definitely the best out of the three sandwiches. Ice Cream Flavors - Hershey's Premium Hand-Dipped Ice Cream A small is 5 oz (.6 cups) and a large is 8 oz (1 cup) -Outrageous Oatmeal (brown sugar cinnamon ice cream swirled with caramel, complete with oatmeal cookie pieces and chocolate chips): this is such a winner. Infused with cinnamon and brown sugar, the ice cream tastes just like cookie dough. The little cacao nibs/chocolate chips add a fabulous texture and the bits of cookie burst with sugar. Delicious. Too bad this one is made with corn syrup. Yuck -PB, Cookie Dough, and Caramels (rich PB ice cream, swirled with peanut caramel sauce, and loaded with chunks of peanut butter cookie dough): there is a GREAT amount of peanut butter in here. The caramel is nicely sweet and salty (doesn't have a PB taste). I didn't get many pieces of cookie dough though, but when I did, they were crunchy and sugary (but they too didn't taste like PB). Perhaps a little bitta chocolate would do this ice cream even better? Also made with corn syrup. -Cappuccino Crunch (coffee ice cream with dark chocolate spiral and toffee pieces): the truffle fudge in here is very decadent! I didn't taste much cappuccino/coffee flavor (I just had a sample) but that chocolate made up for it. (has no corn syrup!) -Midnight Caramel River (creamy golden vanilla and dark chocolate ice cream flooded with a thick caramel swirl): they aren't kidding when they say it's FLOODED with a thick caramel swirl. The caramel is lovely and the dark chocolate makes more a creamier ice cream. Also made with corn syrup :( -PB Pretzel: for some reason pretzels never taste good in sweets because they become soggy and soft. There was a nice peanut butter taste but the mushy pretzels just weren't good. -Cookie Sundae: mmmm she heated up the delicious chocolate chip cookies which are so nice and moist, and which have soaked up the delicious flavors of ice cream. The peanut butter topping is so creamy and wonderful as well as the hot fudge. YUM!!! FINAL VERDICT: The sandwiches are just okay but the ice cream is delicious and well worth a visit. Before or after a movie snack, perhaps?

This is a straight-up great local business. Through word-of-mouth at my workplace, I found this gem. Since I am always running late, I call in my caffeine fix of the day (they make a FINE cappuccino), and conveniently, my order is hot and ready for me to pick up on my way to work. I agree with the other reviewers in that the Coffee House Creamery is LEVELS above the competition nearby and is truly the optimal place to grab lunch, coffee drinks, and ice cream in the West side on the Jackson road corridor. I can't wait to try the Thai Chicken salad or one of their creative paninis! They have unique and tasty salad options for those of who are trying to eat low-carb or paleo. In a bread dominated world, I really appreciate these salad options. Also, the staff is fantastic. A+ customer service, and the C.H.C. baristas know their stuff. I don't always expect coffee houses to know what a caffè breve is (they certainly have NO clue at Panera!) but the barista didn't even flinch the first time I ordered one and made it perfectly. Next time you are cruisin' down Jackson road (or visiting the Quality 16 theatre) check this place out for your next caffeine or ice cream fix!

I've patronized CHC since they opened, and it's a great little place. I've stopped in for early morning coffee, soup and sandwich lunches, mid-afternoon business meetings and had them cater two business events at our office. I've gotten to know Natalie the owner, and all her staff are as friendly and attentive as can be. Great coffee and food in a relaxing atmosphere. As a local, family owned business they are a great alternative to the larger franchised operations like Panera. I highly recommend you check them out.

I love coming to the Coffee House Creamery. Their selection of ice cream is great and the service is friendly and approachable. No wonder the staff tip jar is always bursting when I come here! I can always find a table and there is a great feel about the place. The only downside to this place is that there always seems to be internet connectivity problems when I come here, whether it's me, my friends, or other customers.

I stop by once in a while for coffee (good price, always tasty) and a bagel (good, but perhaps not notable), but don't often stay. There's something about a strip mall that turns me off... And yet I love this place, and wanted to review the EXCELLENT experiences we've had with catering for our smallish office down the street. The food is good, and the presentation was lovely again this week. When you host a lunch meeting, you need for the meeting to not be overpowered by the lunch, but you want it to look and taste good. We ordered a sandwich tray (order for your number of people, or for one or two less -- there's plenty!), a fruit salad (which was arranged beautifully), individual bags of chips (kettle chips - yum!), and a dessert tray. It all looked and tasted good, but the desserts were a standout crowd pleaser.

I absolutely love this place. My partner in crime and I discovered it quite a while ago and live nearby. For some reason, though, we avoided it like the plague. Probably because we couldn't figure out how to get in. No, I'm serious. We didn't even know there was a movie theatre... okay, you can stop laughing. Anyway, I'm glad we decided to be adventurous and check out whether or not there was another entrance because by doing so we discovered what has grown to be a favorite spot. We've been here for sandwiches (they make an excellent special-order veggie sammy), icecream, and coffee several times. After the first visit we found ourselves here more and more often. It's a great, LOCAL alternative to the corporate Panera down the street and has a much better vibe. Also, it's cleaner (Panera lacks in the whole cleaning off the table thing). Sure, it doesn't have as much of a selection and it's baked goods aren't nearly as good as Panera's but, it's locally owned, and that means something to me. Also, it's drink selection kicks Panera's ass. After a few meals here I started stopping in in the morning to grab iced coffee. Natalie is always friendly, remembered what I like after the second stop in and is so much fun to chat with. Besides great coffee, etc., CHC is a great place to write. I spent a significant amount of time there in November when I was finishing my novel and never felt as if I was a bother. One of the best spots on this side of town!

Great business plan. Caffeine + ice cream= love. I've tried two of their salads-- citrus tuna and apple pear. Both were absolutely delicious. Very creative salad choices! I'm excited to try one of their paninis or sandwiches next!! Chai latte was good, not the best I've ever had but it satisfied my craving, nonetheless. Very good selection of ice cream and sherbets-- tried something with chocolate bites and coffee in it, and it was absolutely delicious! Wish I could stay there all day so I could smell the fresh waffle comes they make throughout the day...

Well, I can't say I've actually been here for anything but the ice cream. I live nearby and therefore had been to the Quality 16 multiple times, meaning I've passed by this place multiple times and never went in. Let's be honest - the name threw me a little. Coffee House? Creamery? I don't like coffee ice cream. I don't wanna go there. No. Finally I went in. I wanted ice cream. and I didn't want Baskin Robbins. And this was the closest place. As soon as I pulled the door open to this glorious dairy wonderland, I knew I'd found a little scoop of heaven. You get hit with the smell of waffle cones and ice cream shoppe goodness like a shovel to the face. It's just that good. The prices are very reasonable for the portions, and the quality is unbelievable. I'll definitely keep coming back!

I was sitting in Coffee House Creamery last weekend, savoring the only sip of my boyfriend's insanely scrumptious "Oatmeal Cookie Dough Espresso Shake" that he'd allow me to have, and I realized that this is probably my favorite coffee spot AND ice cream spot in Ann Arbor. As the name implies, this place combines two worlds: Coffee and Ice Cream. Simple enough, right? No, the great thing about Coffee House Creamery is they get really inventive when combining these two worlds. Their Signature Drink menu features several "ice cream themed" hot coffee drinks: Rocky Road, Cherry Cordial, Moose Tracks. And their ice cream menu features a couple coffee-infused options. They'll take any ice cream you want and turn it into an Espresso Shake or a Chai Shake. Their ice cream options range from the extreme yet drool-worthy "Peanut butter caramel cookie dough" to classics like rum raisin (actually, it's sorta hard to find rum raisin these days, no?) The prices are cheaper than the Dairy, Stucchi's, and Kilwin's. Everyone who works here is incredibly nice and welcoming, from the owners during the day to the teenagers at night. It's a great place to go before or after a matinee, or anytime you find yourself out in this area and want to treat yourself beyond an average latte.

This place is awesome...Ice cream and coffee, in one place and they'll put them together into amazing flavor combos for you....just go for it, already! Smoothies are awesome as is the andes coffee drink. Also, pretty kid friendly, lots of crayons and things for the little ones to play with. Buy local --- Starbucks doesn't have anything on these guys!

I have to add some kudos on top of Theresa's review. This is a sweet little place. It has more character than you might expect from a spot in a strip mall. It's obvious that the owner cares about creating a cozy place, and not just a coffee-chain clone. Because of its proximity to Quality 16, I think a lot of folks stop in before or after a movie, but for me, it's actually a great place to hang out while I get my car fixed over at the Subaru dealership. It seems quiet enough that it might be a good somewhat-still-secret study place for those of you who live on the west side, too! I'm no coffee drinker, but the chai was delicious! Baked goods were just OK, but the atmosphere balances everything out. Overall, I enjoy this place and the obvious effort in making it feel welcoming.

Great coffee and tea! Food is delicious and fresh. The staff is super friendly! I enjoy this hidden gem on a daily basis. What was was that other place?...Panera-bucks? Who cares! CHC is the best!

I like supporting small, locally-owned businesses, and am happier about doing it when they make truly outstanding food or products. Luckily, this place meets both criteria. I had some of the best tomato bisque ever on a recent trip to the Coffee House Creamery. They were also very accommodating about making me a veggie & cheese sandwich even though it wasn't on their official menu. As other reviewers have mentioned, the atmosphere is much nicer than you'd expect for a little cafe in a strip mall, and I could imagine bringing a laptop or a notebook here to get some writing done. I've also been here for ice cream, and while it may be a bit more expensive than Dairy Queen, the quality of the dipped ice cream is very good. One thing I haven't tried is the coffee, but that just gives me an excuse to go back and try that sometime soon.

Sorry these rating are over the top. Stopped in for half sandwich, soup, and ice cream. At best it was average. I asked the person taking our order what was your most popular sandwich (pesto with pepperoni), it was fresh but didn't have a lot of flavor. The potato soup was also good but not great. My wife had the chili and that was above average. The ice cream was also just "Ok". I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here. Nice place to go for snack or coffee after the movies.

Ice cream, mmmm. This new little spot on the west side of Ann Arbor shouldn't be missed. The owner Natalie has created quite a little spot for movie goers on Jackson Road and for all the folks working off Jackson. Or, if you are heading onto 94 to head home, plan to go a little bit out of your way to grab a nice hot bev for the drive home. Being a huge chai fan, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Natalie chose to use Oregon Chai (the best!). She also has a good selection of loose leaf teas, and recently, also has oatmeal for breakfast (with lots of yummy add-ons), soups and sandwiches for lunch, and of course, ice cream. You are always greeted with a friendly smile, which I appreciate. The prices are very good too.
